About Face of Liberty International.

Face of Liberty International is a fast growing free market, liberty, human rights think-tank in Sub-Sahara Africa that receives no Government funding. Our mission is ‘to preach the ideas of liberty to every corner of Africa and put the song of freedom on the lips of every African’ which we believe will lead to a free, prosperous, and peaceful Africa where limited governments defend the rule of law, private property, and free markets system.

COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. She/ He will be in charge of creating local content in line with our mission and supervise programs, events and projects.
  2. He will also be expected to manage and supervise a team of youth and student volunteers.
  3. He also develops the strategic plan and ensures that the operational plans and strategic plans of the organization are met in accordance with our mission.
  4. He reports back to his/her Regional Director or FLI Director of Operations in absence of the former, and must be ready to prepare regular reports on progress made.
  5. Provide leadership and oversight to all in-country programs and ensure successful implementation, program impact, and institutional growth.
  6. Ensure a consistently high level of team performance; lead, mentor and model productive, collaborative intra and inter-departmental working relationships. Provide timely, and quality support to local representatives.
  7. Responsible to formulate the country strategy and the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development, quality programme development and implementation, resource mobilization and human resource management.
  8. Organize workshop/seminars, webinars, etc to promote our programs and be ready to learn and enroll regularly for our trainings and available trainings with our partners

Necessary Technical Skills

  1. He/She must be computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Ms Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint will be a plus.
  2. He/She should be able to have contract, procurement making skills and negotiation skills.

Desirable Qualities

  1. A country Representative should have good diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
  2. He/ She should have good communication skills, written and oral and should be able to coordinate teams and be a self-starter.
  3. He/ She should have good leadership and administration skills and relevant experience in the field she wants to work in.
  4. The country Representative should be ready to network and maintain a good working relationship with other stakeholders, volunteers and partners.
  5. He/ She should have good judgment and decision-making skills.
  6. Must be ready to learn more about Objectivism, classical liberalism, liberty and idea of free society.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Minimum of two years of progressively responsible work experience in advocacy, campaign and development projects, with a majority of experience at a managerial level in country of assignment;
  2. Experience in proposal writing and budgeting
  3. Ability to provide supervision, mentoring and training to volunteers.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to manage a diverse set of relationships in a multicultural environment.
  5. Ability to work productively and accurately in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  6. Established capacity to deal with ambiguity in stressful situations.
  7. Ability to work under remote management and lead projects to completion on time, in compliance with donor requirements, within budget and with the anticipated results.
  8. Ability to facilitate project design development, including applying theories of change and project logic to design, and leading teams to develop work and management plans accordingly.
  9. Ability to develop and maintain a strong personal and organizational relationship with internal and external staff, volunteers and partner organizations.
  10. Possess professional knowledge in diverse development approaches demonstrable leadership, organizational and managerial skills
  11. Ability to think strategically, conceptualizes new ideas, digest and analyze complex information and present coherent work plan or implementation plan
  12. Possess professional attitude and diligence and able to work both independently as well as in a team.
  13. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  14. Proven skills in networking and relationship building
  15. Strong analytical, information gathering, administrative and representational skills
  16. Knowledge of social media platforms
  17. Experience working with freelancers and ability to coach diverse set of volunteers

REGIONAL DIRECTORS

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, team-oriented senior manager to join the top leadership team in overseeing each of the five regions of Africa. The Regional Director’s primary responsibility will be to support, lead, and coordinate the Country Representatives under his/her jurisdiction to ensure effective program delivery and impact making in line with our mission.

The Regional Director role is one of a problem solver, facilitator, and mentor to the CR’s – someone who can see around corners, anticipate and remove road blocks, facilitate discussion, help build systems, and advise the CR’s at the country level and the Global Executive Team (GET)of the organization

S/he is someone who enjoys building and growing organizations, and leads through influence, the power of ideas, collaboration, and problem solving.

In addition, s/he is comfortable working within a matrix organization, coordinating operations with all Global functions.

Note, while this person will help support our business development globally and in-country, this position is not primarily an externally-facing business development or strategic planning role but rather more of an internal support and management role to the more externally facing CR’s at country-level.
